It's been said many times over the last 35 years “I always wanted a Haro Master.”First Generation Innovation celebrates Haro Design’s busiest twelve-month period of product development – a year that delivered three evolved versions of two legendary, game-changing bikes – the first dedicated vert bike - the Haro Sport, and the bike that set the standards in BMX Freestyle for over a decade - the Haro Master.
In August of 1978, a small black and white advert appeared in the new product section of BMX Action Magazine, announcing "Haro's Factory Plates." This low-key promotion marked the start of an entrepreneurial journey, and a new enterprise, that would profoundly shape the identity and direction of the new sport of BMX.

No other freestyle team of the 1980s era could match the depth of talent at Haro Designs. From day one, Bob Haro set standards for innovation with his relentless pursuit of perfection when riding his bike. The most iconic and accomplished riders in the history of the sport lined up to represent Haro, promoting a unique culture and a new direction for bicycle riding.
Due to our misunderstanding of the way that dates are written in Europe [the number of the day precedes the number of the month], in 1986 we showed up for a European tour six weeks early. We land and, weirdly, there’s nobody there to pick us up. We had a credit card, so we hired a Mercedes and packed all of our stuff and bikes into the back…
